Beginner Driver Education Online Course Registration

Online Classroom This 20 hours online classroom program is designed as a replacement for the actual in-class portion of your driver education program. The purpose of this program is to provide you with the knowledge skills, and attitudes needed to drive your vehicle safely

After completing the course

When you successfully complete a government-approved beginner driver education course:

  • the driving school will certify you online
  • your student driver record will be updated through the Ministry of Transportation

If you need proof to show that you’ve completed the course, you can get your driver’s licence history for a fee.

Dear student, the MTO requires students to complete 20 hours of theoretical instruction (Step 1); 10 hours of digital instruction (Step 2); and 10 hours of in-vehicle training within one year from the course start date  in order to be eligible for certification. We strongly recommend students complete the online portion of the course within 8 months to allow for a minimum of 4 months for the scheduling and completion of the in-car training. The sooner you complete the online portion, the sooner you can complete the course. It is your responsibility to complete everything in a timely manner.
